Voltage Sensors
Using the 0-5 volt voltage input for the DS2438 A/D, the board can be setup to monitor a wide variety of sensors.
Relative humidity can be measured using the HIH-3610-003 humidity sensor (This is a Honeywell factory calibrated version of the popular HIH-3610 humidity sensor). This absorption based humidity sensors provides linear voltage output versus %RH. Sensor laser trimming of the sensor achieves 2%RH accuracy when used with the calibration data. Sensor packages are chemically resistant and operate in ranges of -40 °C to 85 °C (-40 °F to 185 °F) to accommodate harsh environments
Another popular option is to monitor light input, by using the PNA4603H-ND Photo IC. This sensor comes with a pin header on the board for wiring to the sensor. (sensor cable is not supplied)
This inpit is also available without the sensor, a 3 pin (+5 / VAD input / Gnd) polarized pin header is installed on the board and a matching female header with pins is supplied for making your own sensor cable.. This allows for convient conections to POTS, or other 0-5 volt sensors such as CO2 sensors, or Infared distance sensors.
Radiance Sensors
The optional radiance sensor circuitry uses the current monitoring ability of the basic DS2438. It can use either a photodiode physically mounted on the board or setup for remote sensor monitoring by installing the optional pin-header instead. And using a twisted pair of wires for the sensor cable. A 820 ohm 1206 smt resistor on board sets the current limit and is designed for use with the PDB-V113-ND photodiode blue wavelength light sensor. You can change the resistor if desired to change the sensitivity of the sensor.
