For opto-isolated direct 1-wire servo control

This unit is design to run up to 3 low cost hobbyist type servos over a 1-wire network using direct 1-wire control from a single board. Servo's are powered independly of the board (DC power jack provided)and are optically isolated from the 1-wire network, thus keeping servo motor noise off the 1-wire network. It is suitable for many low speed servo applications such as camera control (maybe Camera Pan, Tilt, Focus) or servo controlled sensors where the need is not for high speed control or step resolution but for easy integration into existing 1-wire networks. For many application the 256 step resolution of the DP3-Servo Controller is sufficient and there is no need for high frequency updates of the servo position, which makes this board a candidate for those applications.

A fourth opto isolated output is available under 1-wire control. Using 22 turn adjustable pots you can easily trim your servo operating range. Large changes to servo timing can be made thru the use of pin header jumpers. A onboard DS2409 (HUB) chip acts as the prime interface to the 1-wire network and allows the device to easily be disconnected from the net when not in use. A DS2433 EEPROM (connected to the Aux channel of the Hub) is used to provide tagging support for the device so you can name your servos if you wish at the device level. Board is a D Size board with all the standard features of our D Size board.

With two hobbyist style servos attached (Pan/Tilt mechinism)

This photo shows the cable attachments of a working board. (Delivered boards may have additional features not found in this photo). On the top of the photo you can see that the board can be powered either through the 1WRJ45 cable or as in this case, with a 12VDC regulated supply. The 1-wire signals are plugged into the dual RJ-45 connectors, also on the top of the photo.

Two servos (used for Pan/Tilt) are plugged into the bottom servo connectors. Power for the servos is optically isolated from the 1-wire control signals and is supplied using the DC power jack on the bottom of the photo. A 2 pin header, located next to the jack, could be used instead if desired
