LP-Series

LP - Line powered series

The small size, simple 1WRJ45 wiring of the LP-Series modules makes it our most economical, easy to install and use, 1-wire units yet. With a PCB size of only 35.5mm x 47.5mm, (our A Size PCB) these modules are designed to just fit in a Pac Tec CNS-0000 model enclosure or the enclosure of your choice using the two2 #2 mounting holes. The PCB's are double sided with silk-screens and solder masked on both sides.

Both power and 1-wire network connections are typically made through the Dual RJ-45 jacks using the 1WRJ45 compatible wiring standard. This supplied +12VDC regulated power is regulated again on board the LP-Series using a LDO (low drop out regulators) for a steady, low noise, reliable local power source for the boards components and allows for maximum performance of the 1-wire components. 1WRJ45 wiring options are easily configured by using solder paste jumper for maximum versatility in customized network wiring.

All LP-Series modules support an installer selectable active line clamp on the 1-wire data signal for improved network line limiting and wave-shaping when needed, along with passive onboard low capacitance TVS and diode protection for the 1-wire data line.

On board power and access LED indicators are used to indicate power and device selection. Power for the boards may also be optionally applied directly to the LP series board, instead of through the modular dual RJ-45 jacks, by connecting directly to a 2 pin male header. This allows power to be supplied to the boards when it is desirable NOT to use power over the cable. And also serves as a convenient test point when checking power.

For Temperature Humidity Solar Radiance Monitoring

All devices come with a onboard device selection hub (DS2409 chip), a 4k bit (512 byte) EEPROM (DS2433) and a A/D converter with temperature sensor (DS2438). You decide which sensors you want to add to the basic board. Add an optional solar radiance sensor for light monitoring, a Humidity sensor for highly accurate humidity sensing and a 2nd temperature sensor for increased accuracy of air temperature monitoring (more accurate humidity calculations).

LP-IButton

For Temperature monitoring, adding a I-Button to the network

All LP-IButton modules come with a onboard device selection hub (DS2409 chip), a EEPROM (DS2433) and a single PCB mounted I-Button Clip for holding your choice of F5 size microcan I-Buttons. On board temperature is monitored with a DS18B20 temperature chip.

Device operation is tested with (but does not include) a DS1921L-F51 thermochron iButton. EEPROM's are supported but not EPROM's. A wide variety of iButtons are available directly from Maxim/Dallas semiconductor at http://www.maxim-ic.com/1-Wire.cfm

LP-PWR

Use to supply power to 1WRJ45 modules, and convert from Dallas RJ12 to RJ45 wiring.



This module preforms two functions, it provides a 2.1mm power jack (center positive) so regulated power can be supplied over the network cable and it also converts RJ-11/12 modular plugs into RJ-45 connectors. Which makes it an ideal interface between RJ12 versions of the DS9097U-S09 or LINK buss masters and 1WRJ45 wired systems. Since the unit is supplied with a dual RJ45 connector RJ-45 versions of the LINK are also supported.

The module can pass through the regulated +12V DC supply line and also supply regulated +5 Volts @ 50 ma for modules that require that voltage depending on how you set the solder paste jumpers on the board. A on board rectifier prevents accidental conection of center negative power sources (the rectifier may be optionally bypassed if desired). A Power LED indicates the power status.

The board has the installer settable active data line clamp and TVS and diode data line protection scheme used in other LP series modules.

LP-Hub

For adding a single hub switch

This simple 1WRJ45 compatible module allows you to add a hub switch anywhere you wish to. Since the unit is powered (like all LP-series modules) from the cable adding a hub is a simple matter. The large onboard 512 byte EEPROM (DS2433) allows identifications of the various legs.

Various solder paste jumper options allow for maximum versitility in how you use this device. Use as a device ID for existing 1-wire components, as a HUB (Main / Aux network switch with the EEPROM on the AUX leg). Or as a identified cable switch (with the EEPROM before the hub switch) so you can switch off bad network legs and still identifiy the problem leg in detail. You decide by setting the jumpers.

Allows you to put a single network switch where you want it and since its 1WRJ45 line powered, addional power cabling is not needed.

Finally, a way to really isolate your expensive 1-wire network components.

The LP-Fibre Duo Slave  acts as the slave side of a fibre optic data link sending and receiving 1-wire communications. (Unit must be used with a matching LP-Fibre Duo Master for a complete system.

The bi-directional 1-wire signal is split and sent out on one fibre cable and recieved back through a second fibre cable where it is recombined into a true 1-wire signal. With on board HUB and EPPROM you can identify a working FIbre Link and still be able to shut down bad 1-wire legs. Automatic timing circuit provides strong pull-up current automatically.

Use fibre to protect your household, route 1-wire signal in noisy environments, use it to protect your computer center from external surges or lightning hits and sill monitor the outside environment.
